05:25 pm - Closed.
For the longest time I never thought I would dream of deciding this, but +Medical Lolita+ is permanently closed.

I'm not the same person I used to be, and I am losing a lot of interest in Japanese music and pop culture. I enjoyed sharing music with you all, as well as discussing opinions about music, but I'm just not interested in maintaining this journal anymore. J-rock and visual-kei is becoming more and more disappointing to me, and the fandoms of immature people are overshadowing the talent of the musicians too much. It's only going to become worse and worse.

I will keep this journal up for memories because I'm sure I'll want to re-read it someday, but do not expect me to ever update again. I think I've known for a long time that I wouldn't stay committed to this journal and it's only now that I am confirming it. There are a lot of places to go on Livejournal and on the internet if you want more mp3s. My requests section is permanently closed, so if I am messaged for a song re-upload or a request I will ignore you. Plain and simple.

J-rock and visual-kei music/culture is a diminishing part of my life. I am shedding myself of these unnecessary 'fandoms' and moving on. Thank you for your understanding, and I will miss the discussions I had with many of you.

05:50 pm - #68 - Random Rotation
I've been busy for the past month, with both personal events and family problems, which is why I have not been on. Of course.
Since someone mentioned in the last post they wanted to hear some more obscure music, I tried to choose music that is not as well known/has not been featured on +Medical Lolita+. I think I will also do this for the next rotation.

Unsurprisingly, none of these songs featured have PVs.

Title: Sex Android - Neurose
Genre: New Visual-kei
Rating: 7/10
Comments: Starting this rotation is a song by Sex Android. They're fairly new... I think they've only been around a few years, I can't recall exactly. Normally I try to avoid anything visual-kei has achieved after 2001 (especially after 2005) but... I don't mind this at all.

Title: L'ysenore - Nostalgia
Genre: Indies
Rating: 7.5/10
Comments: L'ysenore is a terribly pretty band, that's what attracted them to me in the first place. (I am a terribly visual person.) L'ysenore has that great Indies sound, but like many Indies bands, the quality of this song is not the greatest. But it's a must for late 90's/Matina style band lovers.

Title: Aioria - Hana kotoba
Genre: Indies
Rating: 9/10
Comments: After only a few listens to this song, I just love it! I'm an Indie whore, sorry. <3

Title: Billy - Another Seisyun Jidai
Genre: New Visual-kei/Indies?
Rating: 8.5/10
Comments: I will be honest, the display picture is the sole reason I downloaded music from this band. I grabbed it about two years ago and today is the first time I have dug out their mp3s from my gmail for a listen. They remind me of Vidoll. Even though I don't like Vidoll too much, this is a good song, and I'm liking the whole pale skinned, light haired skinny eunich look. <3
download

Title: Crack Brain - Ryuusei
Genre: Indies
Rating: 8.5/10
Comments: I'm discovering a lot of bands today, even though I've been hoarding this music forever. Airi from Madeth Gray'll (the unsightly band member on the back left) came into the band after MG disbanded, so you can definitely hear a Madeth influence in this song. I believe Hizaki had also been in this band. The vocalist also has a beautiful voice which I am starting to really like.

Title: Devine Maiden - Killer
Genre: Indies
Rating: 9/10
Comments: Sirens + Heavy guitar = Fuck yes. Recommended.
download
video

Title: The golden spider - Kurobara
Genre: Visual-kei?
Rating: 9/10
Comments: This guy sounds an awful lot like Kiyoharu, which gives me an immediate predilectation for this song. I was certain I had an icon for them, but I guess not...  Recommended.
download
video

Title: KlacK - INTIFADA 2003 -ORCH. VER-
Genre: KENZOOOO.
Rating: 9/10
Comments: I think this is reminiscent of a survival horror game, specifically Silent Hill. The gargly noises throughout are pretty strange. I like it. (And the guy in the middle of the picture looks hilariously out of place)
download
video

Title: Lilacberry - Strawberry Doll
Genre: Oshare... I'd think.
Rating: 7/10
Comments: Bands that look like they haven't even graduated high school yet make me sick.
download

Hopefully you've found something that has roused your interest. I know I did. It's roused more than just my interest. Haaaaaaaaaaaah.
I also have an mp3 request. I accidentally deleted Penicillin's "Grind Candy" and I was wondering if someone could give it to me (the song, not the single). Please and thank you.

The question of the week...

Is Visual-kei dead?
YES. MALICE MIZER's "Bara no Seidou" was the funeral music for visual-kei that was elaborate and decent, and all but the few neo bands that have tried to pass themselves off as visual-kei are clones of one another. HOW MANY BANDS DO YOU SEE THAT LOOK LIKE LILACBERRY.
Too much.

Cheers~
Dolly.

10:09 pm - #67 - Random Rotation
Music time!
I randomly remembered that +Medical Lolita+'s third birthday was on July second, so Happy 3rd Bithday, [info]medical_lolita
I think. I have a love/hate relationship with my mp3 rotation, which explains my random inactivity.

It's getting difficult for me to choose songs and themes because I'm sure a lot of you have the mp3s I do... that's why I haven't updated in a month, I'm just uncertain of what to put on here. So I put together a mediocre line-up and hope you find something you like.

Title: The Zolge - White Zone #2
Genre: Rock
Rating: 8/10
Comments: Haruhiko Ash singing jazz. Engrish jazz. I don't get it.
download
video

Title: Blam Honey - Geneous forture in the garden (part one)
Genre: Industrial
Rating: 9/10
Comments: I meant to do a little tribute a lot sooner than this. I'm sure you all know, but for those who do now (and do not use myspace, like myself) Ryonai released information about Tatsuya's death in June 2004. <3 I can't believe he only made it public now. Even though they have not been active for years, especially Tatsuya (and his reason why is now clear) I'll miss Tatsuya a lot.
download
video (a fan tribute)

Title: Billy Idol - Flesh for Fantasy
Genre: AWESOME
Rating: 2000/10
Comments: BILLY IDOL. I can't be the only Billy Idol fan here, right? I'm going to see him live in August, so I wanted to put up a song. This one's my favorite of his. ^^ Yummy. Billy Idol puts me in heat.
download

Title: Art Marju Duchain - Anaphaxeton
Genre: Gothic
Rating: 8/10
Comments: I haven't put up any AMD for awhile, and I really adore this band. I only wish they released more songs because I am enamored of Kai's voice for some reason. I like his vocal style in this song.. it reminds me a little of Dada's voice contortion.
download
video

Title: Klaha - Chameleon no seppun
Genre: Jazzy
Rating: 8.5/10
Comments: Um.. I'm embarrased to say I've liked this song for years. So I will say I selected it because Klaha is handsome. And he is. And here's the chance for you to hear him say "doobie doobie" if you ever were curious.
Once my sister and I looped this song for about twenty minutes and made an improvised drawing while listening to the music. It turned out pretty ugly, with a dancing sun, a detective, a diner with a happy piano, among other things.
download
video

Title: Aliene Ma'riage - Native Devil
Genre: Indies
Rating: 9.5/10
Comments: Aliene is one of the best 1990's japanese bands to crawl out of the woodwork, even though they crawled back quickly. If you disagree with me, I'll just have to rip your eardrums out and spare you of your terrible musical judgement. Seriously.
download
video

Title: Kozi - ISM
Genre: Visual-kei
Rating: 7/10
Comments: Hedonist, pessimist, narcissist, humanist, nihilist, fetishist, facist, and me. Meism.
download
video

Title: Aural Vampire - V Madonna Schizoid
Genre: Gothic
Rating: 7/10
Comments: I would put 'Repoman' on because I prefer it, but since I put it on awhile ago.. here's a different song.
download
video

That's all for the music.
Questions....

To help me out with my rotation, please just answer this:
On +Medical Lolita+ I want to see more of ______________
And less of ___________

Put as many bands as you like, just make sure I have them on my playlist... telling me you want to download more 12012 will just make me laugh at you.

Also, remember when BLOOD "disbanded" a few years ago and then basically went "APRIL FOOLS, WE'RE STILL TOGETHER"?
Don't you wish they actually disbanded?
Me too.

02:45 am - #66 - Special - Band theme rotation
Well, Kaya won this band theme by default, because even though there ended up being tied votes again... I just let him win because he had the most votes first. It's unfortunate and I'm disappointed, really, because Kaya is not hard to find anymore. His discography is all over the internet. So I added some Schwarz Stein songs as well to spice things up because that's when his talent was most blatant.
But since this voting has proved lack of interest for most of you, this will decidedly be the last band vote rotation.

Also, my computer has randomly decided to double click so in this rotation I'll have to see if I end up decidedly smashing my computer monitor out of frustration.

Title: Kaya - Hydrangea
Rating: 8/10
Comments: Well, this song is interesting, at least. I like how it begins, with all the water sounds and stuff. Very hydrangeaish. Mhm. I also like the vocals, how it doesn't even sound like Kaya at parts.
download

Title: Kaya - Kagami Oni
Rating: 8/10
Comments: This just reminds me of Aural Vampire. I do like the music though.. otherwise it's not thoroughly interesting.
download

Title: Kaya - Kaleidoscope
Rating: 9/10
Comments: This is one of the few solo songs of his I listen to, and I like the effect with the orchestra. He really sings beautifully in this song. (It is hard to think of good comments at three in the morning, you know.) Download if you haven't yet.
download

Title: Kaya - Kuroi tsubasa
Rating: 6.5/10
Comments: The whole "ANOTHER CELL" album just makes me want to slap Kaya and Hora back together until they re-create Schwarz Stein. This song even has that goddamn "Aaaaaaaaaaa~" (0:34) they always used. D: Why did they have to disband? Both solo projects are mediocre against what they once were.
download

Title: Kaya - Remains of mind
Rating: 8.5/10
Comments: I like this song, but I am just finished with the Kaya comments. I have nothing more to say.
download

Title: Kaya - Funerary dream
Rating: 8.5/10
Comments: Holy shit, Kaya can smile. Surreal.
download

Title: Kaya - Chocolat
Rating: 8/10
Comments: I'm going out for pancakes tomorrow. :3
download

Title: Schwarz Stein - Addictive Epicurean
Rating: 9/10
Comments: I don't listen to this song often, but I just love the beat. :3 The vocals are nice too. Upbeat and understated.
download

Title: Schwarz Stein - Succubus
Rating: 9/10
Comments: Angry Schwarz Stein. :D Perfect for those who like disorder and surprisingly pleasant screamy vocals. (I wouldn't call it 'screamy' but... stressed?) Nightmare~ No more.
Recommended.
download

Title: Schwarz Stein - Fester love
Rating: 9/10
Comments: I remember reading one of Kaya's interviews long ago and he had said that he and Hora had recorded two of the "New Vogue Children" songs in complete darkness... I think one was Queen of Decadence, but I'm pretty sure this was the other. (Bear with me, it's been awhile since I read it.) I like the moodiness of it, how both the vocals and the music are fluid and relaxed. It's almost morbid. :3 <3
download

As I stated before, this is not the most obscure band choice, so I will not be surprised if most of you have these songs. However, I do hope some will find songs they don't have yet and of course, let me know.
Enjoy.

07:34 pm - Regarding the non-rotation post.
The voting results this time around are very little, with over 100 people watching +Medical Lolita+, I expected a lot more.

Kaya and Kokusyoku Sumire are tied at a grand total of three votes each. Amazing.

Thank you to all that voted, but if there is going to be a vote rotation we're going to need some MORE participation from others, okay?

So, vote.

OR

?

You have until Thursday, the 12th. If this tie-breaker entry receives less than five votes, I'm canceling.

08:38 pm - #65 - Random rotation

Hello everyone!
Today's rotation is random, but still has the informal theme of "put iPod on shuffle and see what songs result".
Also in this entry is a mini Silver Ash rotation!

There are no PVs this entry because Youtube and I currently have an estranged relationship. Sorry!

Title: Noir fleurir - Clock'work Fairy
Genre: Indies
Rating: 9/10
Comments: Immediately recommended to Aliene Ma'riage fans -- I know there are a lot of you out there! One the introductory talking part is over, this is a really good song. It's already grown on me. I love their Aliene influence.
download

Title: Schwarz Stein - Perfect Garden
Genre: Gothic
Rating: 9/10
Comments: Please note this is the album version, NOT the remix on the Artifical Hallucination album. I fucking can't stand that remix. Schwarz Stein is the last greatest Visual-kei band to exist. Period.
download

Title: Madeth Gray'll - Chizome no kigeki (secret track)
Genre: Indies
Rating: 10/10
Comments: I can't get enough of this Madeth Gray'll style of song -- the screamy, odd noise, disconcerted way rather than their usual broody pre-emo symphony. <3 I love this song. Recommended.
download

Title: Earl Grey - Head will roll
Genre: Indies
Rating: 8.5/10
Comments: On the topic of Indies, here is Earl Grey. I don't think I've featured their music on my rotation for... a long time. Which really is a shame because I enjoy their music....
download

Title: Kozi - Innermost...
Genre: Visual-kei
Rating: 8.5/10
Comments: It came down to this song and one from Izayou no Tsuki, and I prefer to feature a song with lyrics. This was never really a favorite of mine of the album, but I have a lot more of an appreciation for it now. Through a 'member'/friend of Medical Lolita I found a live album of his (from 2006?) and wow, does his voice sound much better. I'll have to put it on the rotation soon!
download

Title: Vizell - Aspire
Genre: Indies
Rating:
Comments:
I just adore Vizell. I seem to like every song I've heard of theirs (although I never listen to every song a band releases... I don't know why), it's just unfortunate they weren't around longer to make something greater of themselves.
download

Title: Traditional Music of the Japanese Geisha - Lotus Blossom
Genre: Geisha
Rating: 8/10
Comments: Um. I have always been enamored of geishas but... I don't know if I would be able to sit through singing like this without shifting my eyes or nevertheless being amused. Still pretty though.
download

Title: Blood - The Reaper Behind Me
Genre: Gothic
Rating: 9/10
Comments: Ugh, if Blood was American, they'd be the laughing stock of the entire country. I actually like this song a lot more than I thought I initially would have, but who the hell comes up with their song titles?
download

Title: MALICE MIZER - Clown Suicidaire
Genre: Instrumental
Rating: 9/10
Comments: Lol~ Random movie soundtrack time. Let's all take a moment to reflect on Bel Air ~Verte Aile~  and it's unnecessary plot line.
OH NO MY TAROT CARD SAID 'DEATH' AND THE ENTERTAINING CLOWN MIMICKED SUICIDE SO I GUESS I'M GOING TO DIE AND HAVE GACKT DO THIS OVER-DRAMATIC SCENE OF FINDING MY CORPSE ON THE BED.
Malice Mizer movies are awesome. I put this one on my iPod and the sound doesn't work. :(
download

Time for a mini-band rotation:

Silver Ash
A few weeks ago I got a comment from an Anonymous user thanking me for the Silver Ash I had uploaded. I think Silver Ash needs more love, as they are the sole recognizable Chinese visual-kei band, and since you enjoy them so much, I decided to upload some more for you, as I don't have a way of contacting you through Livejournal accounts. I just hope you don't have all of these...

White Dream (Bai se de meng)
Return (Hui gui)
Snow Track (Xue hen)

Twins
Control
Estrange

Never end

The only question I have this week is....

I looked on my playlist and noticed I did NOT have Malice Mizer's "Kioku no sora" (Memoire/Tetsu version). I do not understand how that went unnoticed because that is one of my more favorite Mizer songs, so can someone please pass it along to me? Thank you!

Also, a harder request --
Months ago I had found this video (Haruhiko Ash and Nao Saejima) and I am looking for an mp3, if it exists. It's really grown on me and I'm amused by the vocals. If you have it/can locate it for me.... I will love you until I find another song I want. Thanks again!

I would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone (politely) to comment and also vote on the band rotation. The deadline is Friday!

12:49 am - Non-rotation post/Band theme rotation #6~
It's been a year, so how about another band rotation vote?
(I'm trying to become more involved with this rotation once again.)

I will put up my list of artists and you can vote your top three choices for the rotation. The band who gets the most votes will be featured on the Band-vote rotation on the week of June 8 -14th! That means you have two weeks to vote, so I'm looking forward to seeing a lot of votes.

Rules:
+ The bands you vote for must have more than 7 or 8 songs on my playlist (unacceptable bands will be put in italics on the artist list).
+ Popular bands like MALICE MIZER, Psycho le cemu, dir en grey , X-Japan and artists like hide, Gackt, Miyavi, etc. are unacceptable because you can find their mp3s on downloadable music programs.
+ Soft Ballet, Earl Gray, Phantasmagoria, and Hizaki are automatically unacceptable because they won the last four special band rotations.
+ Remember, no more than 3 bands!

Unacceptable bands are in italics, acceptable are bold.

Directory of J-rock Artists

The deadline for this voting contest is Friday, June 6th, 2008. No exceptions
I'm looking forward to your votes!

Update:
June 2nd rankings:
Candy Spooky Theater - I
Kaya - III
Hora - II
Silver Ash - I
Deflina Ma'riage - I
D - II
Kokusyoku Sumire - III
Eve of Destiny - I
+SADIST+ - I
Sex Android - I
The Zolge - I
Aliene Ma'riage - I

Let's get some more votes!

07:05 pm - #64 - Theme Rotation
Hello! ^^
Before I start this week's rotation, I want to announce that +Medical Lolita+'s playlist has been updated for the first time in one million years. There is now enough MALICE MIZER to make you regurgitate blood and roses, as well as massive updates of The Stalin, Brain hacker, Soft Ballet, Inugami Circus-Dan, Madeth Gray'll, Aliene Ma'riage, Sex Android, The Zolge, and Deflina Ma'riage. Also expect to see updated lists for Exist+Trace, Blood, Virgins O.R Pigeons, Heisabyoto, The Piass, Moi dix mois, Guniw Tools, Pride of mind, DOREMIdan, Kaya, Angelique, Versailles, Nookicky, Eremia, Candy Spooky Theater, Kalmia, Polysics, Ryuichi Sakamoto, The Piass, Anti-Feminism, Eve of Destiny, and Deadly Sanctuary.
So take a look and request something!

As always, thank you to those who comment, I'm always glad to see what you have to say.
I always tell you all -- even threaten sometimes -- comment, even if it is 'ewfwe'.
Let me know you have taken interest in my rotation. It should not be so difficult.

This entry is a test entry. If I receive less than desirable entries, I will password protect all files and will not give you the password until you comment.
I'm serious, come on.

This theme is First J-rock Songs Listened to by Dolly.
Self-explanitory. Firsts of selected bands, because I don't just listen to anyone.

Title: MALICE MIZER - Shiroi hada ni kuruu ai to kanashimi no rondo
Genre: Gothic
Rating: 9/10
Comments: It doesn't matter whether you love MM or not, I will tirelessly argue with you that Bara no Seidou is Visual-kei's masterpiece. It is the magnum opus and it is the funeral music of visual-kei. Who else in this subculture can come up with music that is so sophisticated? I've said it before -- this album is elegantly macabre, the immaculate blend of light and dark. BLOOD AND ROSES, WOOHOO. <3
download
video

Title: Madeth Gray'll - Mother Complex
Genre: Indies
Rating: 8.5/10
Comments: I happen to think Madeth is very important in the 90's Visual Indie scene, and they're one of the first bands who come to mind when I discuss Indies. <3 I don't love this song as much as I once did, but it makes me reminisce of dancing around and putting on blue lipstick after getting dressed in the morning. Uhm, and the opening music also makes me think of surfing...
download
video

Title: Blam Honey - Tranceparent Sky
Genre: Industrial
Rating: 7/10
Comments:  I remember when I first found out about Blam Honey in 2003. Back then Blam Honey was extremely hard to find, and I remember a friend saying "I want to listen to Blam Honey!" and myself replying "Me too!". It took me months to find a single song. And it happened to be this one, and my friend and I were both unimpressed with it. She personally abandoned any liking of them after hearing this. XD But I decided I still liked them and about half a year later found the Typical Ingeniousness album... then I knew I could not go back. And I never have. And I never WILL, so.
I will kidnap Tatsuya and Ryonai when the time is right. You'll be able to order our sex tapes off the internet soon.
download
video

Title: Moi dix mois - Forbidden
Genre: Gothic
Rating: 9/10
Comments: I remember hearing this back when it was released with the Dialogue Symphonie single and thinking Mana had a Malice Mizer complex. It does seem like he picked up where Malice Mizer left off, because Malice Mizer was a genius of a band. And unfortunately, Moi dix mois is not. But I do like the Juka-Mana-Kazuno trio and none of them are the same now that they've gone their own ways. I can't stand what Moi dix mois has become now.
download
video

Title:  Aliene Ma'riage - Ikei no Maria
Genre: Indies
Rating: 10/10
Comments: I cannot, I will not, stop pressing this song on people because it is amazing. I urge you to listen to it because it will leave nothing short of an impression on you, whether positive or negative. Kyoka's voice is at its prime here -- shrill, screechy, neurotic. It's so strange, and the first time I listened to it I went right to bed after, but could not sleep because I had the shrieks ringing through my head. That was my impression and I fell in love with Kyoka right away. Currently, while my love is in Deflina Ma'riage, we have an estranged relationship... because I think he's turned into a conformist idiot.

Title: X-Japan - Kurenai
Genre: Visual-kei
Rating: 8.5/10
Comments: I am not certain why, but it took me a long time to warm to and appreciate X's music. I can understand why some people don't like them and perhaps that is why, I was focused on the fact a lot of people I knew didn't care for their music. I don't like every song of theirs that I hear, but I have really come to love the roughness of Toshi's voice.
download
video

Title: Kuroyume - Masturbating smile
Genre: Visual-kei
Rating: 9/10
Comments: ...It has been years since I have listened to this song, and I've realized I have missed it very much. ^^ It's not very complex, it's actually very early 90's indies, and I just love Kiyoharu young or older.
His lips are freaking creepy, though.

This week's question....

What's the stupidest Jrock band name you've ever heard?
I personally want to know who came up with the great name "GUY'S FAMILY". I personally have nbo interest in the band, but what kind of fucking name is that?
"There's this guy.... he has a family.... let's make a band about that."
Idiots.

01:56 am - Non-rotation post/Memorial

I found out about this a little later than I'd like to...

Despair's (Despair Nation's) Ana committed suicide on March 24th, 2008.
I had put up Despair's music on my rotation mainly because she was my favorite in the band, and it pisses me off that her time with the band ended this way.
I don't know much about her (or Despair as a whole) to even call this a memorial, so what do I call it?

From

[info]despair_nation:

Official Announcement about Ana's death:

As some people will already be aware, Ana took her own life on March 24th, 2008. It is with a sense of horror and great sadness that I am obliged to make this the first official bulletin from the Official Myspace profile for DESPAIR.
At this time, this terrible loss is still very raw: and it is difficult for me to put into words the conflict of emotions I feel. I will make a full statement in due course.
In the meantime, I would ask people to refrain from e-mailing us directly with questions about this subject: please allow us to deal with our grief privately.
If you wish to leave some message of condolence, I have opened the ’Comments’ board to allow you to express yourself in this way.
I have also uploaded what now becomes Ana’s final song with DESPAIR - ’Gash’ from the new DARKER WATERS compilation. The release date of this compilation has been changed to June 7th: the same date that we - along with many of Ana’s other friends - will play a concert in her memory at Shinjuku Marz (Tokyo Dark Castle).
The answer to the question ’Will DESPAIR continue?’ is ’Yes: of course’. As others of you may be aware, Ana had in fact already played her final show with DESPAIR in February: and Rieu and myself were already recording material for the new album without her. However, I had hoped and believed that one day she might return: something which can now never happen.
I will write in more detail when I can collect my thoughts better. Until then, please bear with us at this difficult time.

Thanks
JUDE (Despair)

So Despair will eventually resume as a duo... but it's not going to be the same. D:

Since I know some of you on here like Despair (and perhaps knew about this long before I did) and for those who are interested, I'm putting up some songs, as well as a Youtube video.

Dance of the Murder
Propaganda (Brainwashed Drug Mix)
Destructive Needle (Distorted Awakening Mix)

04:02 pm - Non-rotation post/Requests
If you happen to request a song you want from my playlist (which should finally be updated soon!) please ask for it in the requests entry which is on top of the page.

Thank you to the many jrock fans who do leave their requests on the request journal entry, it makes requests so much easier to find and manage. However, I'm noticing some people (who do not have Livejournal accounts) have left requests back in the 2005 and 2006 rotation entries. Please do not do this. I don't always get an email notification and I don't always have the time to find something misplaced. The same with leaving me a message in my inbox, I am not on +Medical Lolita+ often bcause it is (meant to be) a once a week/two week journal. I do not get an email notification for new inbox messages.

So for those who are going to request: If you request in an old entry or in my inbox, it will be ignored.
Please request here and do not forget to abide by the requesting rules.

Thanks!
~Dolly

08:42 am - #63 - Random rotation
Well I'm a bored twenty-year old girl all home alone at 8:30 am... with nothing but caffeine... so what else is there to do but UPDATE MY MP3 JOURNAL. MP3 MP3 MP3 MP3 MP3.
You see, I haven't been updating for a reason which is half-spite, half-I-got-an-80GB-Ipod. Last rotation only got two comments  (thank you [info]vashsbitchand [info]neko_ice_queen) and I know MORE people took my music than that.
Where are you hiiiiiiiding, loves? Come out so I can see your pretty faces!
Or perhaps throw an egg at them. :3
Silly +Medical Lolita+ users, why do you scarcely give comments after I upload large rotations?

This rotation is random. Last time (or the time prior) I bitched about needing new music. I got some, as well as a few older songs today. :3
SO COMMENT, GODDAMIT.
It's not freaking physical labor.
*eats a gummy bear*

Title: Velvet Eden - Tsuppari Visual Rock 'n' Roll
Genre: Demotape, that is all I will guess.
Rating: .../10
Comments: Only one thing: WHAT THE BLOODY HELL IS THIS. Maybe other VE fans want to elaborate, as I've had this song for a long time and have only bothered to listen to it now. It's TERRIBLE. I understand it's some sort of VK parody but the music, holy shit, it kills me. ._.
However I like how he rolls his r's... heeheee. Tsuppari vijaru rock and roooooooooooooorru.
download
video  I don't have PVs for any of these songs today, sorry. I don't even think they HAVE PVs.

Title: MALICE MIZER - N.p.s. N.g.s. ~no pains no gains~ -Gackt's First Live-
Genre: Live/Crap
Rating: .../10
Comments: Next on the WTF list -- If you think you sing terrible, you ought to hear this. I was kind of stunned when I heard it because I always had liked Gackt's young voice previously (yes, previously.) If I was Mana I would have titled this concert Gackt's Last Live. This is awful... maybe he was just young or nervous but... geez. Typing this over and over makes me type Gackt's First Lice accidentally, which I think is an omen really, because lice is the medical equivalent. Nah.. I'm just teasing you Gackt. You know I've always half-liked you. <3
Seriously, you have to hear it if you haven't yet.

Title: The Zolge - Jibaku (Let's Die)
Genre: Zolgeyness.
Rating: 7.5/10
Comments: LOOK WHAT I FOUND LOOK WHAT I FOUND. MORE ZOLGE MUSIC. Much to my Haruhiko-lusting surprise, I found two more of their albums, and immediately knew I had to post one, regardless if you take it or not. I think someone will take it though. There's many EoD fans on here. This is so old, it's buzzy quality. <3

Title: Kamijo, Kaya, and Juka - Node of Scherzo
Genre: Visual-kei
Rating:
Comments: (.wma alert) Ever the fickle-opinionated girl I am, Kaya is the latest musician to be skating on the thin ice of my impression. He's gone major, and I'm not so thrilled about solo Kaya as I am Schwarz Stein Kaya (they're two different musical entities...) so I hope he doesn't turn Mana-like, because I had loved him for years. Now I'm like. ._. .
I can't remember where this collaberation is from. How am I supposed to tell Kaya and Juka's voices apart?

Title: ANTI-FEMINISM - Nationalism
Genre: Hard visual-kei
Rating: 8/10
Comments: Hmm... am I the only one here who likes Anti-Fem? D: Well, if you need some more convincing, this song isn't so vocally-screamy or guitar-fetishized as their usual. Well downplayed, boys.
download

Title: The Stalin - Romantist
Genre: Punk
Rating: 9/10
Comments: Heeeee~ I love the Stalin. Allegedly this song has also been covered by quite a few Jrock bands as well.
download

Title: Silver Ash - Organum
Genre: Chinese visual-kei
Rating: 8.5/10
Comments: Awww, gorgeous. <3 I like hearing the whole Dracula/gothic organ music being played by a Mandarin group. <3 Ling's voice is so soothing... and Silver Ash choruses.... oooooh.
download
video

Title: BLOOD - Dead-hearted
Genre: Gothic
Rating: 8/10
Comments: Keke, Fu-ki engrish. BLOOD is another band which I cannot decide whether I like them or not. Some of their songs are perfect while some are complete garbage. I don't mind this one so far, I think it just needs to grow on me first.
download

The only question I have today regards a J-rock panel I'm doing for a July convention. My group and I are doing Jrock and Visual-kei, and I need a good site with details about the evolution of visual-kei. So far it's difficult. I think I know a good amount of visual-kei but I would love to find a site for reference. Do any of you know of a good information site like that? I would really appreciate it.

Now that you've taken some songs, you know what to do.
Don't let me down.

Enjoy

03:56 pm - #62 - Random rotation
The only reason I have taken a few extra weeks longer to make a new rotation is because my mother told me we would be reformatting the computer earlier this month, so I waited. We still haven't. My mother lies. ;o

So I decided to get on with it and post some random songs so none of you will be +Medical Lolita+ depraved for too long.
Looking on my playlist, I also noticed I haven't gotten any new music for a long time now, over six months. I need some new stuff... D:

Title: X-Japan - I'LL KILL YOU
Genre: Old old visual-kei
Rating: 8.5/10
Comments: I have become addicted to "Sadistic Desire" (Right off, feels getting higher~) so I decided to upload another X-Japan song.
Toshi will kill you.
So watch out.

Title: Eve of destiny - Logos
Genre: Gothic/Industrial
Rating: 9.5/10
Comments: Is it any surprise I am still on this love high with Haruhiko? Well, I still am, and as long as I will be, you shall expect Haruhiko Ash music. Which is great if you're a fan. And is not great if you dislike ugly. I like this song a lot, and how he kind of utters out the lyrics. I wish I knew all the English he was saying, the lyrics are hard to decipher in this song.
When I listen to this song, I always get the image of Kozi being this oddly erotic scientist, creating a singing robotic Haruhiko Ash monster. I think it would make a neat PV idea.

Title: Klaus Nomi - Lightning Strikes
Genre: Ugh... how to describe him...
Rating: 10/10
Comments: Klaus Nomi is like a descendant of David Bowie's success, he is NOT for the subtle or the boring. I admire how he can take dull songs and make imaginative, odd covers. Like this one, for example. The original is about as exciting as a damp towel, and then Nomi makes this song all strange and cute. He has a three pointed hairstyle! How is that not brilliant?
Anyways, anyone who's a fan of the extraordinary should try out his video. It's ahead of it's time, and it's unfortunate he died so young, but I cannot imagine what he'd be like if he was still around to this day.

Title: Aliene Ma'riage - Divine the future from the stars
Genre: Indies
Rating: 8/10
Comments: I outgrew this song around 2005, but I decided to add it because I have not heard it for so long. It's not that bad for Aliene, it has a lot more energy than most of their work. Aliene is another artist for anyone who isn't subtle or trite. If only they hadn't disbanded so quickly.
download
video

Title: Exist+Trace - Water
Genre: Visual-kei
Rating: 8.5/10
Comments: It's pretty admirable that Exist+Trace accumulated such a major status so quickly. I think they've done so well with the North America fanbase just because they are female and can upload that heavy style of music. Anyways, this song reminds me of Kittie's work, but it's fortunate Exist+Trace is not Canadian like they are. (I can safely say this because I am Canadian. The mass of Canadian music is just garbage.) I like how Juu can make her voice beautiful and unsightly in the same instant.
download
video

Title: Schwarz Stein - Emergence of silence
Genre: Gothic
Rating: 9.5/10
Comments: Delicate, euphonious, beautiful. I want Schwarz Stein together again... but I don't think it would be the same. Kaya would just be a diva and would steal all the attention. ^^
This has always been one of my most favorite SS songs, and it's been awhile since I've heard it. I began singing it at work earlier in the week, and midway through the song I couldn't even recognize what I was singing. I forgot the title, the artist, but not the lyrics. ._. Has anyone else had that happen?
download

Title: Polysics - Ah-Yeah!!
Genre: Electronica
Rating: 9/10
Comments: While I've never become submerged into Polysics' songs and the band itself, I've always enjoyed them. I think they are one of the few active bands I would actually want to see in concert. (Anyone else I would be interested in seeing is dead or disbanded) This song is cute, I love Hiroyuki's voice.
I think the world deserves more Polysics.

Title: Noir Fleurir - Omocha no Miisha
Genre: Indies
Rating: 9.5/10
Comments: If you happen to become a fan of this song, you'll find it highly addictive! It isn't until one becomes acquainted with Aliene Ma'riage that they can distinguish how Aliene-oriented Noir Fleurir is. Aliene's ex-guitarist MAST (who has to be my favorite guitarist in Japanese music history) has played guitar in many of their songs, including this one, and when you listen to it (especially at 1:20) you'll notice it sounds very much like Aliene. Try Aliene's "Boku, Shimobe' for reference, you can't miss it. MAST has a unique way of playing guitar, I just love it.
Watch the video for odd KKK figures in a forest, images of MAST, and the nasally pitched vocalist dancing with a guy in a bear costume. XD

Title: Silver Ash - Zang hua yin (Flower's funeral song)
Genre: Chinese rock
Rating: 9/10
Comments: I don't think mandarin is a smooth sounding language, but I like how it sounds delicate in their songs. It's been awhile since I've listened to Silver Ash, and now that I am, at this minute, I'm reminded of how elegant and beautiful their music can be. This song is slow and wonderful, I recommend it.

That's all for this entry. I hope you all found something you enjoyed and are willing to tell me about it.

This entry's question is...
Which J-rock artists have inspired and defined your personal life?
Who in the industry has influenced your fashion, your interests and tastes, your frame of mind?
It is not a good idea to take someone's ideas and re-fashion them into your own beliefs, but if one finds one influential, they will naturally admire and subconsciously mirror their idol.

When I was younger Mana was my idol, he inspired my way of dress and my literature. Since I don't look too different from him when he was younger, it was easy to mimic his makeup and hair, and it suited me, so I have never really stopped referencing it, even though I am no longer a fan of his recent years.
Kaya has also been an inspiration for some of my writing, as well as Dada.

At one point of time or another, those three had been my definite life-muses.
I've also been somehow inspired by Kyoka from Aliene Ma'riage and the boys of Blam Honey, I'm just not sure how.
Perhaps because they've always been burned into my mind.

That is all for now.
Enjoy the rotation!

02:49 pm - #61 - Theme rotation
I'm back early with another rotation! I was so happy to have updated last time, that I immediately started planning my next theme rotation; fourteen bands (some new to +Medical Lolita+) with three songs each!
Keep in mind I am somewhat unfamiliar with a lot of these (like I've stated before, I have so much music but do not get around to listening to many of the bands)

This theme is titled "Wow, you're old!" (in lack of a more appropriate title), which applies to Jrock/Visual-kei bands which started before 1995, preferrably the 1980's. With exception to MALICE MIZER and X-Japan, you'll find fourteen bands here which are really the dinosaurs of modern Japanese rock. Weee~

So take some you're familiar and try some new (old) ones!
And don't mind my randomly sized artist pictures. I try to scale them the same size, but I'm just so lazy. :)
And... I did not have time to search on Youtube for videos, so I apologize.

Artist: The Zolge
Years Active: 1980's - 1993... I was unable to find the year they started, but trust me, they've been around long.
Genre: Punky?
Comments: I am officially on a Haruhiko Ash love binge, so of course I must add these men, specifically the object of my twisted affection, because he's the reason The Zolge is still known of today. At the time, even though they played a lot, they were still very underground.... Anyways, I can't decide whether I like young Haruhiko Ash's or old Haruhiko Ash's voice better. Can you decide?
download Misty Tomorrow
download Fatal Pleasure
download It's still fun

Artist: Dead End
Years Active: 1984 - 1990
Genre: Glam Rock/Visual kei
Comments: I don't know much about this band, I am still deciding whether I like them or not. Some of their songs are not directly my style, but they have a similar musical edge to X-Japan, and I actually like the vocalist's voice quite a bit. This is true 80's rock, somewhat americanized, but I made up my mind just now. I like them. :) Try "Perfume of Violence" or "The Damned Thing".
download Perfume of Violence
download The Damned Thing
download Decoy

Artist: ZI:KILL
Years Active: 1987 - 1994
Genre: Visual-kei
Comments: More 80's style rock! Like Dead End... I just listened to them for the first time this week. >> Catchy guitar riffs, and the vocalist has a good voice. I think I like "High School Game" best.
download HIGH-SCHOOL GAME
download Waratte goran yo
download Suicide ~omoide nante...

Artist: BY-SEXUAL
Years Active: 1988 - 1998
Genre: Ugly Visual-kei
Comments: THEIR HAIR. GOD. D: Umm... so.... they're like ZI:KILL and Dead End, but I personally think they're 'happier' sounding than the previous two bands. Still undecided whether I like them or not, but they are not that bad.
download Hysteric
download Love Emotion
download Sexuality

Artist: Fiction
Years Active: 1996 - 1997 (Umm..)
Genre: Gothic/Visual-kei, I'm assuming.
Comments: It was only when I finished uploading everything did I realize I got "Fiction" mixed up with Lucifer's early band "Gille' Loves" which was active 1986 - 1996. So for the hell of it, it's old sounding, it's lovely, I'll put it up anyway. Let's just assume these songs were recorded a little earlier in time. Lucifer is quickly blossoming into a favorite of mine, and listening to these songs I realize that I adore her speaking voice. "Venus in Furs" is what she calls a 'schizophrenic dialogue'.. and well, I'm enamored of it. She's quite a bit of a masochist in her songs, as well. <3
Don't let the fact she's a woman discourage you from trying her music out. She's just as good as the rest of them.
download Towararete...
download Kegawa no Venus -Venus in Furs-
download Violenoue no Hanzai -CRIME of Violenoue

Artist: Eins Vier
Years Active: Unable to find, I think they began in 1990 though.
Genre: Rock?
Comments: I barely found ANY information about this band, which may not be a bad thing because I am doubting whether I personally like their music.... Therefore I do not have much more comments to add. ._.
download Staying and walking
download Kimi ga sute saro u tomo
download Dear Song ~Natsukashi no Uta~

Artist: The Piass
Years Active: 1993 - Present?
Genre: Visual-kei
Comments: Finally some music I am positive I love. :3 The Piass is rather punky, and I've told you all (or, the ones who were reading) about the odd deaths in the Piass years ago. I just love The Piass, or rather, Takayuki. Try all three, they're all good.
download Fat Fetishism
download black=right
download Despair. (No dream, no hope)

Artist: Buck-Tick
Years Active: 1985 - Present
Genre: Visual-kei
Comments: This is really 'old school' visual-kei... I don't really listen to Buck-Tick very much, but I like Atsushi Sakurai and his solo works. I actually ignored Buck-Tick for years because I thought their name was stupid (what the hell does it mean anyways?) but if I listen to it now.. it's because of Atsushi. His young voice is so cute! Download "Do The 'I Love You'", because I told you to.
download Illusion
download Do The "I Love You"
download Sexual XXXXX!

Artist: Luna Sea
Years Active: 1989 - 2000
Genre: Visual-kei
Comments: Luna Sea was discovered by hide, and the X-Japan sound is very apparent in their songs. However, I feel Luna Sea sounds more indie than X. I don't listen to Luna Sea much... I probably should, as their music is quite good... I don't know. I can't get around to it. Try "Blue Transparency", one of my more well favored Luna Sea tracks.
download I for you
download Blue Transparency
download 4.00 AM

Artist: The Stalin
Years Active: 1980 - 1985, 1988 - 1993
Genre: Punk
Comments: This is punk at it's height... short, disorganized, bad singing. It's awful, but great at the same instant. I'm not a huge punk fan, but I like The Stalin. Plus the vocalist is fucking sexy and just had a terrible attitude, which is attractive, I think. Not a trace of visual kei, just lazy music and the feeling you'd get herpes if you stood next to them.
Ooh Michiro, I wish you'd hit me. <3
download STOP JAP
download NO FUN
download Light My Fire

Artist: +Sadist+
Years Active: ???
Genre: Visual-kei
Comments: Um, yeah, there is NO information of these guys anywhere. There's not even more than one photo of them. ;/ While their music is decent, I found them disappointing, because a name like theirs makes me expect aggressive music, but it's really the opposite.
download Venus
download Rebirth
download Aii Suishou

Artist: ANTI-FEMINISM
Years Active: 1991 - Present
Genre: Punk
Comments: All this hard music is giving me a headache... :) I'm a big fan of Anti-Feminism, as well as almost all of Kenzo's other bands. I'm such a big fan that I always upload "Street fighting much" and "Ore woaroruna!" whenever I want to upload an Anti-Fem song. >> But really, I'm just over fascinated with those. "Kyoushi" is a good one too. Download and take some aspirin!
download Ore Woaroruna!
download Kyoushi
download Street fighting much

Artist: Kuroyume
Years Active: 1991 - 1998
Genre: Visual-kei
Comments: I really miss Kuroyume, they were a great band. Perhaps they are one of my most liked older visual-kei bands. Listen to "Pistol", it's amazing.
download Pistol
download Sick
download Shinainaru DEATH MASK

Artist: Guniw Tools
Years Active: 1989 - 2000
Genre: Um, rock?
Comments: I find Guniw Tools hard to describe, as they are a very eccentric and multifaceted band. They've done ska-ish to industrial, and since they are kind of minimal in appearance, it makes it harder. I think they're worth paying attention to because um.. I lost my train of thought. Tomo is a good (but kind of quirky) vocalist, and their music is interesting and actually pretty unpredictable.... damn this headache I have right now. ._.
download Living Hairspring
download It's Usual
download Plenty of flour

That's all for now... I hope you all enjoyed my hard work and that you found some new music you like! =P
No question today.

Have fun!

07:47 pm - #60 - Random rotation
I'm back! Yippee!
Like the last rotation I did one hundred years ago, if I can find a PV/live/related video on Youtube, I'll post it as well.  Happy day :3

This rotation is random, perhaps next time I will do a themed rotation.

Title: Eve of Destiny- Mother
Genre: Gothic/Industrial
Rating: 10/10
Comments: Ugh, I've been listening to EoD for years, but it wasn't until recently that I began listening to THIS song. And I kicked myself for not listening to it earlier, because as usual, it's sexy. I want to know why Haruhiko Ash enthralls me so. I am almost tempted to ravage the man... ._.  I mean, I generally like older men, but that old? He could be my grandfather. :3 Even if he was my grandfather, that would kick ass, and I would ask him if he would be interested in creating a deformed baby.
Recommended, this is the highlight of this week's rotation, I'd think.
download
video

Title: Schwarz Stein - Corroded Cage
Genre: Gothic
Rating: 9/10
Comments: I've put this song on +Medical Lolita+ before, but I wanted to do it again... I've always liked this song quite a bit, but it hasn't been until recently which I came to really adore it. I think Kaya is at his most beautiful during this song, and whenever I listen to it I have the imagery of a trapped Kaya singing in a gilded hourglass shaped cage. And it's an image I think is appropriate to the mood of this song.
download
video   (Fan video for some Japanese film, which actually compliments the song very well)

Title: Moi dix mois - Solitude
Genre: Visual-kei
Rating: 8/10
Comments: I wasn't as much planning to feature a Moi dix mois song this rotation, but more of a dream I had two nights ago. During that dream, for some reason Mana opened a Mana store in my city (a Mana store in Canada... why?) and it was purely all Mana stuff, and I wanted to buy something (even though I don't like Mana too much), and I was angry because my bank card wouldn't work. He just stared at me during the whole dream. It seems every Mana dream I have consists of him staring blankly at me, odd.
Also, in that dream, while I was in the store I was reading this thing about Mana and allegedly he had some off-stage catchphrase among the lines of running around yelling "I'm going to get a fajita!!" ... but since his professional thing was to stay quiet, he never used it in concerts or events. I think I COULD imagine him off-stage yelling about fajitas in reality, though.
download
video

Title: DOREMIdan - Girl Hunt
Genre: Visual-kei?
Rating: 8/10
Comments: Let's go on a girl hunt. Ohh yeah. No I shouldn't, my boyfriend may not appreciate it. Or again, maybe he may.
Anyways, this song is a LOT like Janne de Arc. Same guitar style. DOREMIdan is a cute band, aren't they?
download
video

Title: Fiction - Lucifer to iu na no o-ningyou
Genre: Old Visual-kei
Rating: 10/10
Comments: I have not put a lot of Lucifer Luscious Violenoue's works on my rotation, but I really feel I should start to. She is a very talented artist both in Fiction and her solo career, plus during the 1990's she befriended a lot of other japanese musicians, and was even rumored to have relationships with Kiyoharu and Mana (Kiyoharu I can see, as he looks like a man whore, but I don't even think Mana would date himself, to be honest.). The promotional video is not much, but once you get used to 'Lucifer to iu na no o-ningyou'; it becomes haunting. Lucifer is a true musician and a true artist. Give her a try.... I especially love the ending lyrics of this song.
download
video

Title: Pride of mind - Out of the air
Genre: Synthpop
Rating: 8.5/10
Comments: Wait, have I traveled back to the 1980's? This song is so synthy, it's almost painful. ^^ And Klaha (or, Masaki if you prefer) sounds quite different... Listening to this song, I have to ask, Wouldn't it be awesome if Pride of Mind and Soft Ballet collaberated? It would be new wave heaven~
download
video

Title: Aural Vampire - The Repoman
Genre: Techno
Rating: 9/10
Comments: Randomly, I call my Siamese a repo man because she tries to steal everything in my house. >> She'll pick something up in her mouth and try to make off with it. The deep voice in this song creeps me out... and I wish this song was a little faster.
download
video         (This video is only 00:16 though.)

Title: Spider lily - Ubusunakami matsuri
Genre: Indies
Rating: 8/10
Comments: Indie time! 'Spider lily' is such a gorgeous name, isn't it? I think that's why I downloaded their music in the first place. The vocalist's voice is not spectacular, but it's not that bad of a song. (It just needs to grow on me) It's actually almost anguro-kei.
download
video

Title: SADS - Loveless Lover
Genre: Rock
Rating: 9/10
Comments: Heeee. :3 I recommend this song a lot, I don't know why, I just do. I just love it, simply said. It's all jazzy and whore-y. I love Kiyoharu's VERY goat voice. Try it out, it will at least amuse you. :D
download
video

Title: Inugami Circus Dan - Gyakuryuu
Genre: Eroguro-kei
Rating: 7.5/10
Comments: Inugami propaganda! :D Short and sweet.
download
video

Title: Kyoka - Shidemushi
Genre: Indies
Rating: 8/10
Comments: Remember when Kyoka was cool? I do. Now he's a stupid dumbass. I really, really dislike how he's changed over the years. His Aliene Ma'riage look was one of the most distinguished and memorable (once recognized) in Jrock history, and now he just looks like every other common Jrock musician. It's sad, but at least we have his solo album. I miss you, old sexy Kyoka.
download
video

This week's question is....

How do your parents (or family) react to J-rock? Do they like it hate it?
Considering they have heard it, of course. (I'm sure some haven't!)
My father seems to like it pretty well, both he and my mother love the hell out of Schwarz Stein's "Creeper". And my father likes "Vanilla" too, which is pretty funny. My mother is different, though. She is quite religious and tends to overreact to certain bands or songs. For example... she hates diru's "Filth", back when I used to play it frequently, because of the backwords lyrics in the beginning. She was like, "it sounds like demons!"
... Um, yeah mother. You're odd.

Anyways, I hope that makes up a little for my lack of rotation!
I'll have to push myself to update next week.

01:37 am - Non-rotation post
I feel incredibly negligent of my mp3 rotation. Back in September I said I wanted to do rotations more often... and ever since I had just forgotten about updating and collecting music in general. Then weeks go by and I think "I really should resume my rotation" and then another week goes by... and as I'm constantly reminding myself, I keep putting it off.

I like a lot of you and your comments (and I hope you like me in return) and I just miss being active on Livejournal. However, since there has been such a haitus on +Medical Lolita+, I don't know if I can pick up where I left off and have people visit the rotation....

I want to ask a question to decide whether to keep this rotation going. I want to make sure if I do, that people will be around to participate. To put it frankly, if you read this entry, please vote. Please be honest. It takes one second and helps me assess the best thing to do with my rotation.

For +Medical Lolita+.....

1. I take uploads and comment.
2. I take uploads and do not comment.
3. I usually do not take songs because I already have most/all that Dolly uploads.
4. I usually do not take songs because the songs that Dolly uploads are not my preferred music/artist choice.

Should I delete +Medical Lolita+?
Yes
No

Please reply with your answer highlighted, or just pasted will do.
Thank you for your opinions on the matter.

03:15 am - #59 - Theme Rotation
Ugh, I have to post entries more often. Since I graduated from school in June, I've been slacking off for everything, and... I need to get myself back in order.

This entry's theme is Engrish; as expected, each song will be composed entirely in what appears to be English, but is really rather incoherent to me.
I am also trying something new this week on +Medical Lolita+. Since Youtube is now a staple of the internet, I will be attaching a PV/live to each song (if they are available). I think it makes it a lot more convenient that way, and enjoyable, as you can judge whether or not you want to download the song based on how you liked it in the video (since I do not collect PVs anyway). Try it out.

Title: MALICE MIZER - S-Conscious
Genre: Visual-kei
Rating: 9/10
Comments: I just love this live... ^^ I haven't listened to this song much in the last few years, but I have always loved its angry, chaotic sound. And the english, of course. The live I am posting basically revived my love for this song, as each time he first yells "S-CONSCIOUS!" followed by the explosion of the pyrotechnic-y stuff... my heart jumps in enamor, and I feel like my breath has been stolen from my throat. And then I watch it a few million more times, and I notice I've developed an addiction.
Thennnn... I.... cut it out~

Title: MALICE MIZER - Apres midi -E-style-
Genre: Visual-kei
Rating: 8.5/10
Comments: Another MALICE MIZER song... Gackt is the J-rock epitome of engrish, however I do not follow his solo works.... so I chose the English version of Apres Midi. I have honestly never truly listened to the Japanese version, I just listen to this one because it's light, poppy, and adorable. There is a rumor that Gackt got all of the lyrics for the English Apres Midi from Mariah Carey songs, but I have never gotten around to actually seeing if that was true or not. I can actually see that happen though. Gackt looks like he appreciates his pop divas.

Title: Guniw Tools - Distortion
Genre: Uh... visual-kei? I don't think you can really explain Guniw Tools.
Rating: 9.5/10
Comments: My knowledge is still a little vague when it comes to Guniw Tools, but I do know that Full is one of the cutest things to grace this Earth. As are the other band members. As is this song. The music has a solo-hide feel to it, plus I just find the vocals seductive. <3 Very, very cute.

Title: Polysics - I My Me Mine
Genre: Electronica
Rating: 12/10
Comments: This has to be my favorite Polysics song... and it is difficult to pick a favorite. It was the PV which drew my attention to the song... it is just so dancy, flashy, and random. With a sexy police officer and a "non-member" who, at one point, strokes up his crotch. I haven't yet forgot that awkward yet hypnotic move. >> Let me also say it has become one of my life goals to find myself a pair of Polysics sunglasses.

Title: hide - LEMONed I Scream
Genre: Rock
Rating: 8.5/10
Comments: I usually end up putting this song up for his birthday or death anniversary, so I wanted to add it for a seperate theme. I think hide's Engrish is the best to listen to, because his nasal voice makes it attractive... ._. I like the song, it's just the PV which isn't so attractive.

Title: lab. - American Darkness
Genre: Eroguro-kei
Rating: 1000/10
Comments: This.. song... is... MAGIC, and if it weren't for the Beautifools Live, I would have never even found this gem of a band. Kuon is insane. ._. Download it x1000, watch the video x1000, because if you can't see him make high pitched noises and do a terrible dance across the front of the stage, there really is no point in living.

Title: Kozi - Cacophony
Genre: Visual-kei
Rating: 9.5/10
Comments: Mmm, Kozi. Mmm, Haruhiko Ash. Mmm, Kozi. Mmmm, Haruhiko Ash. Kozi/Haruhiko Ash collaberations are simply a menage-a-trois of destruction. The third party being the music, of course. Or just myself holding a camcorder. Haruhiko Ash is so geriatric, it's sexy. <3

Title: The Candy Spooky Theater - Merry-go-round
Genre: Spooky-kei
Rating: 7.5/10
Comments: ... Yeah... uhm... I do like the members of CST very much... they have all been around in prior bands for quite some time, proving they are good at making music... I just cannot listen to them anymore. The novelty of Halloween-style music has worn off, and I really just see their productions as a gimmick, I am sorry to say. Like I said, I do like them as a band, their visuals are cute, however as of this year I would be embarrassed if caught listening to them. >>

Title: dir en grey - Child prey
Genre: Visual-kei
Rating: 8/10
Comments: Hmm, what's that? You want to move on to the next song? Let's do it.

Title: BLOOD - Sweetest disease
Genre: Gothic
Rating: 9/10
Comments: This song is diametrical... so cheesy and so awesome at once. It is the shifting of those two extremes which makes me all sorts of happy. As well as the video, it's really rather attractive. And the Kiwamu-licking-Kaede scene makes for a great Livejournal icon.

That is all for +Medical Lolita+ this week, I hope I have made up for my stagnant attitude within the last few months. Also, let me know if adding the videos makes a bit of difference (thanks for getting that saying stuck in my head, Ray) in your downloading enjoyment.

I have two questions this entry, one an opinion question, another a general question of curiosity to those who happen to listen to J-rock, of course.

The first...

If you could choose any J-rockers you want to form one ultimate band, who would you pick? (be as bizarre/creative as possible)
I would put Dada, Kaya, (MALICE MIZER ERA) Mana, Yukito, Yukina, Hisui, and any other very feminine Jrocker in a band, name undecided, they would be ridiculously gothic and feminine; basically only making music about eyeless dolls, mirrors, brothels, etc, and the basic theme of the band would be the obsession they were born the wrong gender.
Orrrr.... I would put (Moi dix mois era) Juka and Mana, Kai (Art Marju Duchain), Dada, Klaha, Kozi, and Haruhiko in a cheese-goth band and call them "Gloomier than Thou".
Orrrr.... I would put two industrial gender units named Tatsuya and Ryonai in a little industrial duo called Blam Honey.

Second question....

Have you come across any censored J-rock songs?
I have only heard two censored songs... diru's Mazohyst of Decadence (the word "cage" is beeped out), and Madeth Gray'll's Rasen Yuugi has beeped out words throughout the chorus. I just was wondering if anyone knew of any other censored songs. That's all~

10:26 am - #58 - Theme Rotation
Agh, August has been a terrible month for me medical-wise... I've been feeling so sick and my sleeping patterns have been mutilated. XD However, it's time for a theme rotation, and the theme for this entry is songs with the word "Maria" in them, because, well, there is a lot.

J-rockers sure like religious references.

Title: Moi dix mois - Forbidden
Genre: Visual-kei
Rating: 8.5/10
Comments: Very early Moi dix mois... it has a strong "Beast of Blood" sound/feel to it, so this song must be reminiscent of where Malice Mizer left off. It's a good song and a great representation of Visual-kei, but seldom do I really listen to it anymore.
download

Title: Daigo Stardust - MARIA
Genre: Pop/rock?
Rating: 9/10
Comments: I don't know, this song is simply fun to sing to. XD I'm not much of a Daigo fan, but I got into this song because of the Daigo Stardust/Miyavi rendition in the Beauti-Fools '03 festival. Youtube it -- it's priceless. XD I love Daigo's look when Miyavi kisses him. Be awed by Daigo's boyish looks, ugly name, and gawdy suit.
download

Title: Aliene Ma'riage - Virgin Mary
Genre: Indies
Rating: 9/10
Comments: A band I could never tire of, a vocalist I would lock in my closet (although I hate you in your recent band, Mr. Kyoka.)... I love you and your religious-martyr ways. Not my favorite AM song, but I like it regardless.
download

Title: Gackt - Maria
Genre: Pop-y?
Rating: 8/10
Comments: Hah, it's been so long since I've put his songs up. XD This rotation has a lot of artists uncommonly used on +Medical Lolita+... I guess variety is good. This song is your typical Gackt... it's not too bad, but honestly I would not be able to distinguish it from any of his other works.
download

Title: +Sadist+ - Maria
Genre: Visual-kei
Rating: 8.5/10
Comments: +Sadist+ is a lot like X-Japan. :3 I don't know much about them, except they're fairly old, and the vocalist doesn't have quite the same vocal skill or hoarseness as Toshi. But still, not bad at all!
download

Title: Buck-Tick - Maria
Genre: Visual-kei
Rating: 8/10
Comments: I like Atsushi Sakurai very much, but I just can't really get into Buck-Tick....
download

Title: BLOOD - Maria
Genre: Gothic
Rating: 7.5/10
Comments: I hate thinking up commentary on sleep deprivation... difficuuullttt.... An average BLOOD song, it's just not their best, really.
download

Title: DEViL KiTTY - Maria
Genre: Visual-kei
Rating: 7.5/10
Comments: ...I'm pretty oblivious to this band, as a matter of fact this is the first time I have ever listened to their music. Teehee.
download

Title: Madeth Gray'll - (Maria) ga nemuru zange no (hi)
Genre: Indies
Rating: 10/10
Comments: Mm, there is so much I adore passionately about Madeth Gray'll, and the masochistic and tormented lyrics of Maria ga nemuru... really captivate me. D: I love Hisui's masochistic intensity, he is such a loner. <3 I especially love his persecuted "Ahh!" noise at 5:22, it always makes me giggle. XD
download

Title: Schwardix Marvally - Virgin Mary
Genre: Indies
Rating: 7.5/10
Comments: More Hisui! :D Not really the same love as Madeth... but it's Hisui nonetheless (with improved vocals!). Think of it as a new, fresher, happier, sparklier Madeth Gray'll. Minus the gloom and masochistic intensity. :(
download

Title: Psycho le cemu - Gekiai Merry-go-round
Genre: Indeed
Rating: 7/10
Comments: Yeah... I don't like PLC very much, so I try to avoid them...
download

Title: Kuroyume - Maria
Genre: Visual-kei
Rating: 8/10
Comments: Hey, it's the wailing goat! Kiyoharu: "Maaaaaaariaaaaaaaaaaaaa~ *baah-s*" Teehee. Kiyoharu is badass, it would be fun to hang out with him, but he would probably randomly start eating his shoelaces/pants in the middle of a conversation.
download

That's it for now. Xx
Requests are OPEN again, but keep requests under ten songs or I'll just plainly ignore you. D: I've had it with requests of 25+ in one setting.

This week's question is....

What j-rock song would you choose to die to?

Merely because this sleep deprivation makes me want to die right now. My choices...

Velvet Eden's "Saakasu Byou", or "Cold Sleep".
Mmm, gloomy intensity.

06:47 pm - #57 - Random rotation
This week's rotation is random. Also, the requests section of Medical Lolita will be open again soon!

Title: Blam Honey - Enlarge Disorder
Genre: Industrial/Instrumental
Rating: 9.5/10
Comments: Completely erotic. One reason I like Blam Honey so much is that every piece they have released is like a strange part of a story (at least to me)... I can picture some sort of scene to every song I listen to. 'Enlarge Disorder' makes me envision some Blam Honey factory. >> Also, do I have to mention that the music from 0:20 makes me feel like I'm being injected with eroticism?
download

Title: SADS - Fairys Malice
Genre: Heavy rock
Rating: 8.5/10
Comments: It's been years since I've last listened to this song, I love Kiyoharu so much, however I kind of forgot SADS existed. *shifts eyes* I'm not a big fan of them, I prefer Kuroyume's sound a lot better, but this is at least a good song to listen to. I quite like the chorus.
download

Title: Vizell - Rape myself
Genre: Indies
Rating: 10/10
Comments: Oh god, I love these boys so much. I would marry each Vizell member at least ten times, I find them that sexy. I love the energy in this song, as well as Tatsuya's vocals. I think I love everything about it. A definite recommendation.
download

Title: Klaus Nomi - Cold song
Genre: 1980's Opera
Rating: 100/10
Comments: I have never uploaded his music on Medical Lolita before, so what can be said about Mr. Nomi? He was a German oddity with an amazing voice, amazing talent and charm, discovered by David Bowie and one of the first musical artists to die from AIDS. I adore him so much because he was ahead of his time, and still would not be accepted in today's standards, had he tried to debut in the 2000's. I'm really captured by the desolate, isolated feeling in this song, and his voice at the end is just... ahhh... I'm envious at it's ambiguous beauty. Try him out, whether you love him or hate him, if you've never heard Nomi I personally don't see the point in living. =P
download

Title: Velvet Eden - Saakasu byou
Genre: Gothic
Rating: 10/10
Comments: I can't adore this song any more than I currently do... it took me a long time to get used to the music, as it would induce some sort of queasiness in my head before, but I honestly do not think I can live without it now. 'Saakasu byou' honestly depresses me though... whenever I'm sad, it's one of the first songs I listen to. <3 I had a rough time in the beginning of the year, and this song kind of epitomizes the recovery. Ah, I love you so much, Dada.
download

Title: dir en grey - MASK
Genre: Visual-kei
Rating: 9/10
Comments: *sigh* You all know I dislike dir en grey very much, as well as 85% of their produced music, but I just cannot seem to dislike this song. It entered my head this morning and refused to leave, so I wanted to put it in the rotation today. Why couldn't they have just stuck to this sound?
download

Title: Versailles - The Revenant Choir
Genre: Um..? Visual-kei?
Rating: 7/10
Comments: 1. I don't have a picture of Versailles, so I just used a picture of Kamijo in a fancy hat, because it's pretty much the same. 2. I HATE THE WOMAN'S VOICE IN THE BEGINNING. Why they needed to add that, I'll never know. I don't know, I find this song kind of boring.
download

Title: Madeth Gray'll - haijin kurui ningyou
Genre: Indies
Rating: 8.5/10
Comments: Mm, I love pointless, low-budget indie songs like this. XD Kind of creepy at parts.
download

That's it for today. I feel like my mind is going to melt...

06:35 pm - #56 - Non-rotation post/Summer clearance

Summer clearance~
Part II

Again, more work from several bands who I have never been quite interested in, nor do I plan on featuring them on my music rotation anytime soon. However, rather than just deleting them off my Gmail/computer forever, I decided to upload them onto +Medical Lolita+ for a final clearance so whoever may be interested can take them. Those who usually take my normal uploads and share my musical interests may not be interested in the following bands, but anyone is welcome to take the following mp3s.

SONGS WILL NOT BE RE-UPLOADED AND THAT DECISION IS FINAL.

If you want a re-upload, I'm afraid you will have to look somewhere else.

Comments are always cordially invited, but are not absolutely necessary for the music clearance entries.

*Note: I apologize in advance if there may be any mixed up links. I upload these overnight, so there could be a chance a song has the wrong YouSendIt link. Unfortunately I do not have these songs anymore so I cannot upload. Please let me know if a link is incorrect and I will delete it.
